24th
Annual
Iams Homestead
Pioneer Harvest Fest
349 S. Broadway.
Trotwood, OH
October 7, 2023
October is the 10th month of the year and
according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, October is a great time for stargazing. October’s full Moon, known as
the Hunter’s Moon, arrives on Saturday, October 28. With the autumnal equinox
in late September, foliage season has officially begun across much of the
United States.
Along with
fall’s arrival come the thoughts of harvest, crisp apples, cider and pumpkins
and Halloween.
Harvest Fest
this year is Saturday, October 7
so be sure and make note on your calendar. With the thoughts of harvest and
cool crisp days, think about farmers with their tractors in the field
harvesting crops and the sound of the engines and clank of machinery. You, too
can hear the sounds and see the tractors and machinery at Iams Pioneer Harvest
Fest.
There will be
Displays and Activities in the Barn, tobacco growing and information in the
field, corn binding, and the husker/shredder demo.
Not to forget,
there will be open fire kettle chili, hot dogs, soft drinks, water and coffee. Donations
are taken for the food and beverages. I have been told there is a strong
possibility we’ll have pumpkin pie again this year so be sure and check it out.
The Iams
Homestead will be open with new Trotwood displays so feel free to browse at
your leisure.
The Country
Store will again be open for one-of-a-kind selections of wreaths, Halloween
décor, antiquities and vintage pieces. Dinnerware, glassware and that one
special plate, bowl or goblet you need to complete your Thanksgiving table.
It’s going to be a great day in
Trotwood.
Hours are from
